Our objective

The Africa Security Forum is one of the most important annual events on the Moroccan conference calendar, covering not only traditional national and international security issues, but also societal, economic and environmental aspects. It provides a platform for diplomatic, political and economic initiatives to address the world’s most pressing security threats, especially in Africa.

The forum’s originality lies in its “idea-sharing” concept, where opinions are exchanged and ideas developed. It provides a platform for both official diplomatic initiatives and private initiatives from think tanks and NGOs, to elaborate and reflect on ways forward and transformations that can be made to address the threats, but also the most urgent proposals in the world. ASF places particular emphasis on informal meetings between leaders, to promote dialogue and frank, open exchanges. On the bangs of the forum, the ASF organizes personalized events based on a P to P concept, enabling participants to discuss various important topics in greater depth. At the end of the forum, ASF produces a compendium of the most pertinent analyses on the main topics presented and discussed, which is widely circulated to the governmental, public and private bodies that make up Moroccan society.

Our guests

Over 400 high-level decision-makers and prominent opinion leaders from around the world, including ministers, diplomats, heads of international organizations and NGOs, as well as leaders from business, the media, research and civil society, will gather at the ASF’s main conference in December 2023. The ASF strives to open the forum to a wide audience, as it is convinced that a broader conception of regal topics requires a sustained and informed public debate. The majority of our discussions are broadcast, and the conclusions of events are disseminated via reports, interviews and social media.

Our goal

Although ASF originally focused on security and migration issues at a strictly African level, it has proved important to broaden our activities on a transatlantic and European scale, to better reflect a globalized and diverse society, to respond to the needs of all stakeholders and to debate the most critical issues of the day.
