ASF 2019

The Africa Security Forum is the open activity of the Think Tank Atlantis. The vocation of our Think Tank and its Forum is to be an incubator of ideas to be shared between experts, this is the role of the Think Tank, and also for the forum a place of sharing with representatives of the countries of the Continent to the forum. The purpose of these two exercises is to be able to offer decision-makers possible responses to the new security issues that are sweeping our Continent.

In this spirit, the latest edition of the Africa Security Forum in Casablanca brought together more than four hundred (400) decision-makers from the public and private sectors, representatives of sovereign ministries or major companies and more than thirty-five (35 ) countries of the Continent. Expert speakers on migration and development, renowned economists, international experts in the fields concerned, followed one another for three half-days, on the themes of migration and socio-economic development, cyber terrorism, E -reputation and Big Data, as well as on extremism and the fight against radicalization

The Africa Security Forum 2019, which will be held in Rabat from December 1 to 3, 2019, will maintain its level of invitation to its work to more than thirty-five (35) African countries and four hundred (400) personalities. Always resolutely turned towards the new issues that will impact the African Continent, we have, while remaining within the mandate of our Think Tank, opened up a new field of reflection by proposing this year to focus on “The Impact of Climate Change on Security in Africa”, a theme that we thought it appropriate to deal with because it is at the center of the concerns of the world, and therefore of Africa.

Three periods of reflection will be proposed, articulated around the following themes:

• Food security and water management
• Population growth and agricultural development
• Anticipating tomorrow’s solutions

To support and develop our debates, we have called on recognized experts, mainly from the Ministries concerned on the Continent or specialists in these issues, key officials from Regional and/or Sub-Regional Organizations on the Continent and representatives of International Organizations in charge of these themes.
